Dexter Weave Pole Training Video
Here is a video of me and Andy working with Dexter on weave poles today. The time he had a few errors was when I changed my body position from recall to me being on the same plane as the poles (turned 90 degrees)

Pawsitive Partners
What a great weekend at Pawsitive Partners! They limited the entries to 3 classes per dog per day, so I entered one of each game and two standards. On Saturday, we started out with M Jumpers. Panic did *great*! I have felt very in tune with her since being back from her broken toe (save for a time or two in Mary's class!). She was very quick, and ended up 3rd behind Linda Mecklenburg's Super and another fast BC. She was 2.5-3 seconds slower than them though, and I think we can get closer than that. I'll have to figure out what we can work on.
After that was M Snooker. She only needed one more leg for her Snooker Champion.... but we didn't get it :( We got 34 points. The 6 was a jump taken twice from the same side. For some reason she didn't take it the second time... I'm sure it's my fault :) Next was M Standard. It was her first time in Masters Standard - and we Qd!!! She did great. I was really thrilled with her. Her running contacts were GORGEOUS! She did argue with me on the table, but once down stayed down. I think she was 11secs undertime - and from the video I can see we were on the table for a total of 14 seconds... NOT good. Other than the table though I was really happy with it.
Sunday we had M Standard first. SO close to leg #2. We got an off course a few obstacles from the end - she had gone wide on a jump so came at an A-Frame/tunnel discrimination at an angle I didn't expect, and she took the a-frame. Oops. Still a pretty good run although contacts weren't as good.
Next was M Gamblers. Gamblers has never been our forte, and we were never able to get the last leg in Advanced. However, we got lucky our first time out with a fairly easy one. She was very close on hitting her a-frame contact, but got it, and our first Masters Gamble!
Last was M Relay (also our first time in this class). We had arranged to pair with Linda and Super - so I knew as long as nothing went horribly wrong we were pretty safe in getting a leg here. Both dogs ran great and we got 1st place and a Q!
Overall we were 4/6, and our two non-Qs were both very nice runs.
Dexter had fun this weekend too. However, he is also apparently becoming manly... and decided he needed to be a little snarky this weekend. We are nipping that one in the bud ASAP. But we worked on him giving me attention when other dogs walk by and he was getting the hang of it.
At the very end of the weekend, Andy got some great pics of Dexter, Panic, and Neat. I will post them, and videos, later.

Dexter weaves and the upcoming weekend
Got to practice w/Dex at the building again last night, for a few minutes both before and after class... His weave poles are speeding up, so it's funny to see him learn to adjust. He was running into poles a little bc his strides were not working out the way he was used to them working! He's still doing 6 poles and I'm working on teaching him to drive through them.
He also did some jump work... I've been a bad mommy and haven't worked much on jumps lately. Well his weight distribution is changing as he grows up into a manly man, so I really need to work them more frequently ! He looked so awkward jumping last night.
This weekend, we are going to Pawsitive Partners USDAA trial in Indianapolis. We get to meet Susan Yates with her PPPw Luna. Luna is from Carol Sowders also, and is I think just slightly older than Dex. I am very excited to meet her! Panic also gets to run in her first Masters Standard, gamblers, and relay classes. Crossing all my fingers for some Qs!! Also hoping that mom can *finally* get Neat out of Advanced.... good luck mom!!
